WIEG Benefit: Maximum Amount and Rate in 2024 Tilburg
The WIEG benefit (Income Provision Act for the First Family Year) supports parents in Tilburg and surrounding areas during paid parental leave. The maximum amount is €2,120 per week in 2024 and depends on your income. What does the WIEG benefit entail?
This benefit covers income loss for parents who temporarily work less for their newborn child. Paid by the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), calculated on the basis of your salary in the three months prior to the leave. Valid up to 52 weeks after birth. Combinable with parental wage, not with unemployment benefit (WW).

Maximum Amount WIEG Benefit 2024
The weekly maximum is €2,120, set by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. Dependent on your average income in the three months prior to leave: 70% thereof, up to this cap.
Calculation example
For a daily wage of €280:
- Daily wage: €280
- 70% = €196/day
- ×7 = €1,372/week
Below maximum, so €1,372. For higher salary: max €2,120.
Annual maximum
€2,120 × 52 = €110,240. In practice lower with limited income.
